Chandigarh has solar energy potential of 153 MW

Chandigarh is a Union Territory in India that also is the capital of Haryana and Punjab. It is considered to be one of the best-planned cities in India. In fact, BBC has announced Chandigarh to be one of the perfect cities when it comes to modern architecture, cultural growth, and modernization. In its endeavor to make Chandigarh first renewable city, Chandigarh has been a proactive supporter of installation of solar in the city.

To accomplish their target, Chandigarh considered the following places for solar power installation:

• 20 MW over water storage reservoirs.
• All government buildings in Chandigarh.
• On raw water storage tanks and community centers in the city.

Supporting their solar initiative, Rays Rooftop has set up projects on government buildings, Private companies roof in Chandigarh.
